Project
We were approached by a private customer who wanted to open an institution in the center of Moscow and decorate part of its walls with mosaics in Roman technique. Classical Roman plots were taken as a basis.

It was important to meet the deadline - there are only 60 days left before the opening of the institution, and the total area of the mosaic. It was almost 13 m2. The approved mosaic module was no more than 15 mm on the large side, which assumed accurate and fast work with the project.
All the main work was carried out in our mosaic workshop, fragments that could not be made in the workshop were finalized at the installation site.

How did the recruitment process go?
Both natural stone and smalt of colors suitable for the sketch were used in the panels, the mosaic was mounted directly onto the mounting grid using Kerabond cement glue with the addition of Isolactic latex additive.
First, the main figures were assembled, and then the background around them. It was important to bring the mosaic closer to the original (reference) which was initially approved by the customer.
Most of all, it took black stone and smalt, which were separately manufactured in our production.
The mosaic was assembled in fragments, after all the parts were ready, the panel was connected into a single structure.

During the work on the panel, some details were corrected or replaced, for example, the head.

Workshop
The mosaic was assembled in a workshop in Moscow, the panels were temporarily attached to the OSB on the mounting grid.
